Hong Wen School is a prominent primary school, located at the fringe of Singapore's City center, which has been designated by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to be a SAP (Special Assistance Plan) school. The school nurtures bilingual and bicultural students who are steeped in Chinese language and culture.

The design has been awarded GreenMark Gold Plus. It successfully organizes the latest teaching facilities and amenities on a tight site, with the community-sharing field acting as a buffer against the heavy expressway traffic. The roof design draws references to Hong Wen School's Chinese roots through the introduction of articulated roof eaves. The overall lightness and clean design of the classroom blocks promotes conducive learning and interactive playing amongst the students.
